FAFNIR (the lindworm's trunk)

He is also described as a lindworm, a species of dragon. Fafnir got the Nibelungen hoard and the treasure as compensation from the gods because they killed his brother Otr.

He had to share the hoard with his brother Reginn, which he was anything but happy about. Fafnir grabbed the treasure and Reginn had to guard the entrance. He put on the Dread Helm to look even more terrifying. Playing second fiddle wasn't enough for Reginn, so he goaded Sigurd (aka Siegfried) into killing Fafnir so he could guard the treasure. Sigurd did so and killed the dragon while he was about to drink something. Before dying, he warned him that the treasure was cursed by the gods. After his death, Reginn claimed the hoard and treasure for himself, but Sigurd killed him too, taking the treasure for himself.
